Ladies Golf Fore The Cure takes place this weekend, event still looking for participants

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Ladies Golf Fore The Cure takes place this weekend and the organizers say they are still looking for participants.

Event organizer Samantha Warren says the two-day event is a great way to contribute.

“It is a two day event. It starts on Friday which has the martini social, registration night and auctioning off a pink golf cart (a decorated pink golf cart). Saturday, we tee off at 10:00 a.m. and everyone does their round, we go back to the clubhouse and have supper and tons of prizes.”

Warren added that they are still looking for ladies that would like to participate. If you can’t golf very well, that is still okay.

“I know a lot of people are intimidated by golf tournaments if they’ve never golfed but I just want the ladies on the course to have fun. There is a competitive side for that, if the women want to be competitive but a lot of ladies just do the fun side and go out there and dress in pink and decorate their own golf carts up.”

The tournament will be happening at Lakepoint Golf and Country Club. If you would like to sign up, you can contact the golf course directly.

“It is $100 for members and $125 for non-members. With those fees, with all of the sponsorship that we have received, pretty much $100 of every registration fee goes directly to the Breast Cancer Society.”
