This isn’t the first time Grimsrud has run to be a Councillor with the City of Fort St. John and she says her main reason for running is to help give back to the community she loves.

“Fort St. John as a community has given me a lot. I really love this city and I want an opportunity to repay the favour. I feel like the strongest teams really have a lot of different perspectives in them. I think I have a lot to offer in being able to give those extra perspectives.”

Grimsrud says another aspect that she would like to look at is getting the community more involved with consultations.

“There are a lot of people in Fort St. John that work very long hours and in industry based jobs and it’s really, really difficult to get that community consultation from those types of jobs that people are working so it is just trying to get a little more accessible involvement from the community.”

Last time she ran, there were 6 incumbents and 6 others for a total of 12. Today, Grimsrud was the first one to officially put her name in at 9:00 a.m.
