Pee Wee Grizzlies fall to Comox Valley in first game at Provincials
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Pee Wee Grizzlies lacrosse team fell in their first game at the Pee Wee ‘B’ Provincial Championships yesterday.
The Pee Wee Grizzlies played their first game of the tournament at the Pomeroy Sport Centre against the Comox Valley, and fell by the score of 15-3. The Bantam Grizzlies are back in action this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. when they’ll be playing against the Ridge Meadows #2 team. That game is taking place on the Pomeroy Sport Centre’s East Rink. In other ‘B’ division action on Thursday, Ridge Meadows #2 fell to Nicola Valley 9-5, Cowichan Valley beat Ridge Meadows #1, and Juan de Fuca beat Vanderhoof 16-3.
In the ‘A2’ division, Kelowna beat Abbotsford 6-4 before falling to Prince George 8-7. P.G. also won their second game yesterday, beating Mission 8-3. Ridge Meadows went 1-1, beating Abbotsford 6-4 before falling to North Okanagan 6-2. North Okanagan also went 2-0, winning their second game against Mission 11-4.
In the ‘A1’ division, New Westminster went 1-1, winning a close 6-5 game against Ridge Meadows, then falling to Coquitlam 6-3. Coquitlam also beat Nanaimo in their second game, winning 5-3. Burnaby went 1-1 on Day #1, doubling up Nanaimo 8-4 before getting tripled up by Juan de Fuca 9-3. JDF also maintained a perfect record like Coquitlam, getting a second win against Ridge Meadows by the score of 10-7.
