FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – School District 60 now has a new water testing regimen and Dave Sloan, superintendent with the School District says water in the District is safe.

“I’m pleased to report that all our District schools are within safe perimeters.”

The water procedures come from provincial requests last spring and are in partnership with public health to ensure that all schools are being tested regularly and that water provided is within safe lead levels.

Sloan also said they had to create some flushing practices because of stale water in the pipes from summer holidays. Those were put in place to protect against harmful contents.

He says the program has been a success so far and will continue to be implemented.
