Prince George man arrested after being found with stolen vehicle

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – A Prince George man is in custody after being found in possession of a stolen car yesterday by an alert officer.

At around 5:00 pm yesterday evening, a member of the Prince George RCMP’s General Duty Section was on patrol in the area of 20th Avenue and Upland Street and noticed a blue jeep liberty being driven in the area. Police had been searching for a vehicle matching the description since that morning when it was reported stolen from a hotel parking lot.

The on patrol officer followed the car slowly until it parked. A lone man exited the vehicle.

The vehicle was found to be stolen as well as the license plates. The suspect, who provided a false name to police, was arrested and taken into custody.

18 year-old Donavan Roberts of Prince George is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $500
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Obstructing a Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Personation with Intent

He will be making his first court appearance in Provincial Court today.
