Firefighters Appreciation BBQ To Be Held This Sunday

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. – The Charlie Lake Community Church will be hosting a BBQ in appreciation of all crews battling wildfires in the area this coming Sunday, May 15th.

Fire crews from the BC Wildfire Service, other first responders, volunteers and companies that pitched in to help battle the flames are all invited to the event, which is happening at Centennial Park in Fort St. John from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Pastor Alfred Reschke with the Charlie Lake Community Church says that the event is being planned as a way to thank those who are helping out during this year’s early start to the wildfire season. “We would encourage the rural community to come & bring a lawn chair or blanket, say thank you to the responders that protected our communities & have something to eat. We have invited local officials to also come & express their gratitude,” Reschke said in a release. The event is also open for the public to attend and help thank all those helping in the firefighting effort.
