Museum hosting celebration of Alaska Highway Transfer tonight

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The North Peace Museum will be hosting a celebration tonight in recognition of the 70th Anniversary of the transfer of the Alaska Highway.

With admission by donation, the presentation looks back at the highway’s construction, transfer ceremony, and the challenges faced by Canadians who took it over on April 1, 1946.

The 75th anniversary of the highway having been built will be celebrated in 2017.
