Climate Leadership Plan consultation extended

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The second phase of public consultation on B.C.’s Climate Leadership Plan has been extended until April 8th of this year according to a release from the province. The consultation has been extended after over a thousand submissions were received on the topic.

Feedback received to date has touched on a variety of issues with the most popular being transportation, clean technology and clean energy, as well as carbon pricing.

It’s hoped that the extension will give citizens and stakeholders additional time to provide their thoughts on climate action ideas, values and priorities for British Columbia’s Climate Leadership Plan which will be released later this spring.

The Climate Leadership Plan website has had over 20,000 hits, and 8,000 pieces of input since the first public engagement last summer. Going forward it will continue in its present form given the amount of feedback that is continuing to come in.

All feedback will be reviewed as the development of the plan takes place. The goal is to drive down emissions while supporting a growing economy.
