Pedestrian hit by vehicle on 93 avenue

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John RCMP responded to a call of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle near 98 street and 93 avenue Saturday at approximately 4 p.m.

According to police, the driver initially left the scene of the collision and then returned to speak to police. It was determined that the collision occurred at low speeds and the 20 year-old female victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver has been charged under several sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, including driving without consideration and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

At the time, the RCMP closed part of 93 avenue for their investigation. The road is now open.
