Teenager robbed, assaulted in Grande Prairie
GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. — A 13-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed in Grande Prairie on Monday night.
Just before 10 p.m. that night, the Grande Prairie RCMP received a report that an armed robbery had taken place in the south side of the city.
The victim was walking by Alexander Forbes School when he noticed a red car following him.
Two people got out of the vehicle and pointed what was believed to be a firearm at him before stealing his shoes, phone and backpack. The two suspects then assaulted the victim, and fled in the same red car through the Haywood Court parking lot.
The victim received minor injuries from the incident.
Police say the suspects are described as one Caucasian male, and one First Nations male. Both are about 6 feet tall, and around 15 to 16 years old.
The vehicle being driven by the suspects was a older, four-door red car, with no specifics on the model — just that it was very dirty and scratched. Grande Prairie RCMP officers are investigating this incident further.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact Grande Prairie RCMP.
