NEBC Expansion’s EA Application received, open house forthcoming

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Environmental Assessment office has received Plateau Pipeline Ltd.’s application for an environment assessment certificate on their proposed expansion of the NEBC pipeline.

The expansion would reach 147 kilometres from an existing terminal near Taylor, up northwest of Wonowon.

As Plateau Pipeline waits to progress towards a potential certificate from the EAO, an open house will be hosted later this month to inform residents and the public about the proposed project.

The open house will be at the Pomeroy Hotel on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

As well, there is 30-day period for the public to submit comments to the proponents of the project. This period will run from Feb. 10, until Mar. 11.

All comments received during that period will be considered, as the EAO and project proponents are seeking public input to ensure that all potential effects – environmental, economic, social, heritage and health – that might result from the proposed Project are up for consideration.

Comments can be submitted online, by mail to the Project Assessment Manager, Ricardo Teldo, or by Fax.

The pre-application was started on Aug. 31, 2015. A previous open house was hosted in October.
