South Peace businesses finalists to Small Business BC Awards
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two businesses in the South Peace have made it as top five finalists in the Small Business BC awards.
Vintage Restoration & Love in Dawson Creek is up for the Premier’s People’s Choice, and Filaprint in Tumbler Ridge is a finalist for the award of Best Concept.
Natasha Lacourse-Cortes, owner of Vintage Restoration & Love, says she finds it great that even someone, and a business, in a small town can be acknowledged for a large, provincial award.
Jody Mitchell, who runs Filaprint, says she found out about the news a few days ago and is excited to be in the top five.
A total of 535 nominees from 71 communities across British Columbia were voted on.
From here, the top five finalists are invited to present a 10-minute pitch to the internal and external judges to prove themselves as B.C.’s best small businesses.
The winners of each category will be announced at the Small Business BC Awards Ceremony on February 25, 2016 at the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel.
