Troyer Toy Drive a huge success

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

FORT ST. JOHN – The toys were literally overflowing at Home Hardware as the Troyer Toy Drive was held in support of the Salvation Army. Heading into the event toys for children ten and over were most in need.

Toys were donated on Friday and Saturday. The donations and funds raised are staying in Fort St. John and will go directly towards children in the area.

Local Salvation Army Captain Sheldon Feener said Fort St. John came through again just as they have with food and money donations for the Christmas season.

“We’ve seen some incredible generosity in this community with food and with money for our kettles being out but I was worried about the toys. That’s the biggest thing. You can provide food, you can provide money, but if kids don’t have don’t have toys to open up on Christmas morning that’s what they’re going to remember. It’s overwhelming. I’m amazed of the generosity of the community” he said.

This year was the 12th year of the toy drive which is a joint venture between Troyer, Moose FM, and Home Hardware
