With the start of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge just over five weeks away, tickets are continuing to sell at a brisk pace. The latest update on the availability of tickets has packages at 90 per cent sold.

Co-chair of the Dawson Creek event Barry Reynard said organizers are pleased with the response in both Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, and as such single game tickets should be available in the not too distant future.

“Both locations we’re extremely happy. We’re at 90 per cent of our projected overall game packages that we hoped to sell putting us online strategically as we move forward for potentially single game tickets following some additional package time,” he said.

Reynard added that when single game tickets go on sale, there will still be the option to buy packages while quantities last.

“We’ll probably have the packages available as we go through because they have a value as individuals still feel that the package option is better for them. We’ll sell and extend that for sure. We’re just starting to explore the option based on availability and space for Fort St. John first and foremost because of the limited space and then look at starting to see what specials or packages we could put out when we release the single packages.”

There are 14 games as part of each ticket package. They’ll consist of two pre-tournament games, six preliminary round games, two quarterfinal games, a fifth or seventh place consolation game depending if a Dawson Creek or Fort St. John package is purchased, tickets to the semi finals, and the bronze and gold medal games in Dawson Creek.
