Police in Dawson Creek are reminding the public that school zones will be back in effect come September. On school days drivers are required to slow to 30 kilometres an hour when travelling through a school zone and to watch for children crossing the street.

Violations could result in tickets that range from $196-$483. There is also the potential for your vehicle to be impounded for a week and being responsible for covering the towing costs.

Officers will be out as the school year begins providing enforcement.
