North Peace Alumni Hockey School back on

After it appeared it would not be possible to stage this year’s North Peace Alumni Hockey School, the week long camp will now go on as planned starting this Monday. Various hockey classes will be held at the Pomeroy Sport Centre with instructors on hand from 8:00-4:30.

Event organizer Brad Fast said the support from locals when news broke of the camp being cancelled was appreciated, as is the support for the camp in general.

“It’s fantastic. Growing up here, born and raised here I know exactly how people feel about things here. It was nice to see the support that we had. We were doing everything we could, keeping as optimistic as we could throughout this process and we’re just very excited.”

There are still spaces available for those wanting to lace up the skates in time for Monday’s start. Those wanting to take part can register for a number of sessions by clicking here.
