Taylor to benefit from Small Communities Fund

Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer was in Taylor this afternoon to announce more funding for a project under the Small Communities Fund. The federal and provincial governments will be contributing money to the replacement of sewer pipe and related road restoration work.

Both groups will be contributing up to $199,333 each for the work which has an estimated tab of $598,000.

The District of Taylor will be responsible for paying the remainder of the costs after the contribution.

As part of the project 850 metres of sewer pipe in the community will be replaced. In order for the project to be possible a temporary bypass and equipment access pit will also need to be built.

Upon completion the new main will meet the expected capacity needs into the future and keep the District compliant with regulatory requirements.
