Investigators remain on scene today following an explosion and fire at a natural gas well site in the Altares area north of Hudson’s Hope on Tuesday.

Northpoint Resources, which operates the well, confirmed the incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. local time.

Northpoint President Ron Lambie said the explosion occurred in a production tank. Damage was confined to the tank and a nearby containment berm, Lambie said. A small brush fire was quickly extinguished, he said.
