Trial date in Justin Bieber’s ATV assault case to be set in Stratford, Ont.
STRATFORD, Ont. — Justin Bieber isn’t expected to be in a Stratford, Ont., court today as a trial date is set for his ATV assault case.
Bieber was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and assault last Aug. 29 after a collision between a minivan and an ATV in a rural area northeast of Stratford.
A lawyer for the pop star has said Bieber was on a “peaceful retreat” with Selena Gomez — his on-again, off-again girlfriend — that was disrupted by paparazzi.
Ontario Provincial Police said the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan “engaged in a physical altercation.”
Const. Kees Wijnands said there were no injuries as a result of the collision, but wouldn’t say whether there were any injuries from the altercation.
Just a few days before the incident in Ontario, Bieber’s car was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by a photographer in Hollywood.
