Fort Nelson RCMP warning business owners after increase in Break and Enters

These commercial break and enters have been occurring in the overnight hours to closed businesses. The buildings have been unoccupied or closed with little or no activity during the night.

In the past three instances, thieves have taken small amounts of cash or tools that have been left on site.  Investigators believe the suspect(s) are travelling to these sites on an ATV during hours when there is little activity.

“We are just asking the owners of businesses in industrial sites or remote areas to ensure their offices, shops and outbuildings are locked up when the work place is vacant, and for everyone travelling or working in the industrial areas to report any suspicious activities to police. Patrols in these areas will be stepped up”, says Staff Sergeant Steve McLeod Detachment Commander.
