Driver in fatal collision identified as 78 year old Dawson Creek resident

Dawson Creek RCMP, along with B.C. Ambulance Services, and Dawson Creek Fire and Rescue tended to the scene where the 78 year old individual was the lone occupant of the pick-up truck. The individual was travelling to Dawson Creek when it struck a southbound van.

The three occupants of the van were all transported to hospital. The driver in the van needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

The highway was closed for a few hours as police investigated. RCMP are not releasing the name of the individual. Neither speed or alcohol are considered to be factors in the incident.
