Wendee Hockney was a single mother, reportedly killed about 7:30 a.m., while on her way to work at the Workers’ Compensation Board only four blocks from the crash site.
Hockney is described by her parents as an energetic lover of the outdoors and a mother of three children in their twenties.
She moved to Edmonton about three years ago to be closer to her two daughters who live in Calgary, and the bicycle she was riding was a birthday present from them two years ago.
Hockney lived most of her life in Fort St. John and the Journal reports funeral services, which are still being planned, will take place here.
