$100,000 incentive programs brings doctor to Chetwynd

17 communities were considered eligible, and of those nine have new doctors. Tumbler Ridge was also part of the program, but so far has not had luck in recruiting a new doctor. 

The new Chetwynd doctor will be working out of the Chetwynd Centre Medical Clinic, although their name and hometown have not yet been released. They will receive $50,000 when they begin working, and the remaining $50,000 after they work for a year. If they fail to live and practice in the community for a minimum of nine months a year for the three year commitment, the incentive will have to be repaid. 

In order to be eligible, doctors must have moved from outside the province or a non-rural community.
