Spectra Jedney II site still shut down after natural gas release

“We still are waiting for a detailed analysis and investigation to complete before they make any comments on the cause,” says Director of Communications for Canada West Peter Murchland. 

The incident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. last Friday, and the B.C. OGC says the release was quickly stopped. There were approximately 10 employees and contractors on the site at the time, conducting routine work, but no injuries were reported.  

Spectra maintains it is working to minimize the impact of the closure on its customers.
