The $237 million project was chosen over other the two other Silver Award of Excellence recipients: Graham Construction and Engineering, a J.V., and ITC Construction Group.

The new hospital opened on June 21, 2012, after construction of the two-story hospital with 55 acute-care beds and a residential care facility with 124 beds began in September 2009. Acciona boasts that it was a challenging project to complete on time, due to its remote, northern location, and finding qualified workers.
