Hydo submitted its amended EIS on August 2, but the Joint Review Panel came back on September 6, requesting more information on 20 different aspects.

In request 13, the Panel had asked for a visual resources assessment of the proposed reservoir and dam site from the perspective of a person on the water, in addition to the perspective from a person at ground level. The response includes a look from the water, as well as sites identified as important by Aboriginal groups, including Attachie, Farrell Creek, Bear Flat. Hydro maintains that its conclusion that the dam would not have a significant adverse affect on visual resources has not changed.

Now that Hydro’s response is complete, the Joint Review Panel will assess whether further information is needed, if there should be a public comment period, or, if satisfied, schedule public hearings.
