The $5.1 billion, 750 kilometre line has a proposed initial capacity of two billion cubic feet per day.  If approved, construction is expected to begin in 2015, with the pipeline in service by the end of 2018.

Prince Rupert Gas Transmission is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TransCanada Pipelines Limited, which has a second pipeline proposed to Kitimat – the Coastal GasLink project.

Open houses to learn more about the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission project will be held across northern B.C. in May and June, with stops in the Peace Region. The first will be held in Fort St. John at the Pomeroy Sport Centre on June 10, the next in Hudson’s Hope on June 11 at the Community Hall and the last in Chetwynd on June 12 at the Recreation Centre. All meetings will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.
