The intersection at Mason Semple Road will also be improved.

The road is used primarily for the oil and gas industry, and the provincial government hopes this will reduce the amount of dust and make the road safer.

“I know how important it is for both industry and our local residents to be supported by a well-developed and maintained road network,” says Blair Lekstrom, MLA for Peace River South. “This project will provide a safer road for all who use it and will continue the unprecedented investment we have seen in our northeast road network.”

The project has now gone to tender, and work is scheduled to start in the spring and finish by mid-September 2013.
