Irving Tang got back to his winning ways to kick off this season, emerging victorious in the event with a time of 1:08:27.

In a sprint for second, Darren Guliov defeated Gord Harris at 1:09:09, while George Gamble finished fourth with the stop clock reading 1:10:50.

The Sunday race also featured a variety of shortened distances, where Dawit Feyissa took first in the 18 kilometre race, with a time of 39:10 and Adam Currie finished second at 42:10.

Sunday was also a first for Christine Shapovalov, who raced in her first BBC cycling race, completing the 10 kilometre track with a time of 29:56.

Next up for the Blizzard Bike Club will be the challenging Roubaix Cup, where racers will pedal through gravel, snow and ice, facing conditions that can range from plus ten and loose gravel, to minus 25 with snow and ice.

Pat Ferris enters the weekend race, which began back in 1996, as the returning champion, having won both the 2011 and 2012 trophies

He has won five times over his years of participating.

The race will feature three very distinct routes, but all start from the Baldonnel School at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10.
