The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left the store with the clerk unharmed.

Police responded to a panic alarm, and set up a perimeter east of the store and along 17th Street.

They were unable to catch the suspect at the time, but based on their investigation, they now have a person of interest in custody.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for their understanding when they close streets to traffic like they did last night.
