Enjoy Academy Awards party On the Rocks

Along with watching the Oscars on the big screen, the event will also feature a challenge called “Disc Continued”, where fashion designers design various articles of clothing strictly from CD’s and DVD’s.

The contest will be judged by local fashion and art enthusiasts, who will have the honour of awarding the winner a cash prize.

Another contest taking place is a celebrity look-a-like competition, where party-goers are encouraged to dress up like their favourite movie character, with the opportunity to walk away with some great prizes.

Festivities begin with the red carpet gets rolled out at 5 p.m., the Fashion and Art competition taking place at 5:30 p.m., the Academy Awards beginning at 6 p.m. and finally, a performance by the Dance Centre at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets can now be purchased at the North Peace Cultural Centre and are $15 per person.
