Fort St. John teen competing in national pageant
The girls have been taking part in workshops all week, preparing them for the preliminary pageant last night. Tonight she will be dancing in the talent competition, and on Saturday, Miss Teen World Canada will be crowned.
Shuster earned her way into the competition through another pageant earlier this year.
"I heard about the Miss Teen B.C. pageant, and I interviewed and got asked to go down there and I qualified as Miss Teen Northern British Columbia World, so I'm off to Toronto!"
Since she arrived in Toronto on Wednesday, she's gone through photo shoots, training, and interviews on MuchMusic's New Music Live and Breakfast Television.
Leading up to the competition, the North Peace Secondary School graduate has also been fundraising for the Free The Children, which Shuster says inspires her. Her bio reads that she believes that children all over the world should have the opportunity to receive a good education, something she learned after traveling to El Salvador to build a school.
The 5th annual Miss Teen Canada-World Competition takes place on July 21, 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto.
