Aboriginal traditions celebrated at Spirit of the Peace Powwow

From Friday to Sunday was filled with music, provided by the Host Drum Thundering Spirit, and dancers of all ages. There were also special ceremonies to honour community members who have made significant achievements, and a memorial for a family member lost.
Throughout the event, the MCs explained their traditions to the non-Aboriginal people in attendance, often speaking in Cree. The celebration was also marked with several giveaways, as thanks to those who came out. t was also noticeable how well elders of all races were treated, given thanks often and provided with food and beverage.
