Heroes Dinner to honour devoted citizens
The dinner was designed to recognize all the people that have made a difference in our region from veterans and RCMP, to current serving military personnel, firefighters and local scout leaders just to name a few.
MP Bob Zimmer will be also be on hand to present the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal to two Peace Region residents.
The event originally began back in 2002, recognizing the hard work of Canadian Forces personnel, civilians and other organizations in support of the local cadet unit.
In 2011, the dinner shifted its focus to recognize and honour devoted citizens from all backgrounds and organizations, with emphasis on the military and emergency service personnel.
In addition to dinner, the event will also be raising money for Vancouver’s Honour House, which provides free housing to all military and emergency service personnel that are in Vancouver receiving medical treatment.
For more information on Honour House, visit the organization’s official website.
The annual Heroes Dinner will be held at the Quality Inn Northern Grand and will begin at 6 p.m.
