Basketball resumes in weekly Spring League

First on the court was the Junior Mixed League, with Player of the Game honours being dished out to Aiden Craig-Steele, Justin Panatis, Jackson Tegart, Tyne Tkachanko and Tanner Sandberg.

In the first Senior Girls game, Lube-X defeated Northern Valve 49-14, with Player of the Game awards going to Samantha Archer of Lube-X for her sharp-shooting skills and crisp passes, while Nicole Letourneau of Northern Valve earned the honour for her rebounding and improvement in her shot speeds.

The second Senior Girls game had Focus defeat D. Bauer in close game, by a score of 38-34. Rachel Wilkinson was Focus’ Player of the Game for her great defence. Jacqueline Trim earned the honour for D. Bauer, for her tremendous ball handling and great shooting of the ball.

Next on the floor were the Senior Boys, which first saw Sunlife defeat Northern Valve 55-36. Sunlife’s Player of the Game was Jordan Sandberg, who played with confidence and excellence attention to defence. The honour of Northern Valve went to E.J Concepcion for his great display of passion for the game of basketball.

Finally, D. Bauer defeated Lube-X 62-51. Murray Hammond was the D. Bauer Player of the Game, for his hard work and fight for every lose ball, while Justin Mah got the honour for Lube-X for his great attitude throughout the game.

The league will resume next week, when Semi-Finals begin for all division of the league.
