If you’re driving this weekend, make sure to leave extra time for possible delays, as well as ensure your vehicle is up for the haul. Remember to check the engine oil, washer fluid, lights and inspect the vehicle tires, including the spare, to make sure they are in good condition and properly inflated.

As we’ve seen today, weather can change drastically, so ensure you are prepared when you pack, and keep a look out for more motorcyclists when the snow clears up.

According to statistics provided by the province, on average there have been 105 crashes and 19 injuries over the three-day weekend in the North Central area.

Although there will be an open fire ban in the north starting Saturday at noon, campfires under half a metre wide and half a metre tall are still permitted. Make sure you have the proper extinguishing tools, and enjoy the time off!
