Peace Region students heading to national science fair

Grade 12 NPSS student Jacquie Gulevich took home several awards from her project "Why Are You Looking So Green?" as well as Bert Bowes' Meagan Haugen-Koechl for her "Feeding the Bees: A Seasonal Protein Analysis for Bumblebees of the Peace.

Five finalists were chosen represent Northern B.C. at the Canada Wide Science Fair to be held in Charlottetown, PEI this year. They include Gulevich and Haugen-Koechl, as well as Rachael McPhail from Dawson Creek Secondary Central Campus, Kevala Van Volkenburg from Bert Bowes and Kyle Plamondon from NPSS. Van Volkenburg and Gulevich participated in Toronto last year, and Haugen-Koechl in Peterborough, Ontario in 2010.

The Canada Wide Science Fair will take place from May 12 to 18, 2012.
