Shaw remains in series lead following second last bike race

The second person to cross the finish line was the series’ point leader Kevin Shaw, who finished second with a time of 28:00, with Pat Ferris coming in third at a time of 30:27.

Tanner and Heather McCracken finished first in the 8 km event with a time of 28:58.

Despite his second place finish, Shaw continues to lead the Spring Stage series with 25 points entering Sunday’s final race. Irving Tang sits second with 23 points, while George Gamble has 18 points for third place.

Following the 7 stages, Celeste Pakstas continues to lead the Women’s Trophy Race with a perfect 30 points, with Barb Polehoykie in second with 16 points.

Kelsey Young leads the under 19 category with 10 points.

Sunday, April 15, will be the 8th and final stage of the Spring Stage Race, as racers will participate in the Rocky Road Race. The event, also known as the "Peace View Pain Fest" was created back in 2008, and features a 38 km Rocky Road route, including a steep 9 km climb. The event finishes with a pure adrenaline rush, as riders must brave a 75 km per hour downhill rush to cross the finish line.

The event will also feature a much more calm 20 km pavement only route.
