Shaw overtakes lead in Spring Stage race

With the win he took over the overall lead with 21 points.

Tuesday’s race was a close one, as Shaw held off both Irving Tang and Pat Ferris down the stretch to win the 22 km "wood corner" road race, finishing with a time of 37:18.

Entering the final two stages of the race, Shaw leads the overall series with 21 points, Irvin Tang and George Gamble sit in a tie for second with 18, while Pat Ferris occupies the third place ranking with 12.

Celeste Pakstas still leads the women with 25 points, while Barb Polehoykie sits second with 16.

Coming up for the Blizzard Bike Club will be the final two stages in the 8 stage Spring Stage race. Thursday, April 12, the club will hold a Baldonnel time trial beginning at 6:30 p.m., and then the series will wrap up Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Rocky Road race.
