Is the worst road in B.C. in the Peace Region?
The British Columbia Automobile Association wants drivers to submit the road in their community that is most in need or repair or redesign to help bring their attention. Concerns can be anything from congestion, potholes, road signs and traffic lights to pedestrian and cycling safety. That stop sign that everyone flies through; that intersection you always get stuck at; that pothole that's blown your tire – twice, those all count.
You can nominate your "worst road" by visiting bcaa.com/worstroads until April 23rd, and keep track of its progress. Once the contest is done, results will be sent to municipalities and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and a list of the Top 20 "Worst Roads" will be published.
"We recognize a great deal of road work is being done throughout the province," says Ken Cousin, BCAA's associate vice-president of Road Assist. "The intent of this campaign is not to criticize the state of B.C.'s roads generally but to help British Columbians bring attention to those roads that may have been overlooked, and to help municipalities and the province in their plans for future road improvements."
