Morrison places first in 1500m event

Morrison’s first place finish comes at a time of 1:46.44, just 0.05 seconds faster than second place Ivan Skobrev of Russia. It was an extremely close race, as third place Havard Bokko of Norway finished 0.06 seconds behind Morrison.

The Fort St. John speed skater led the entire race, never surrendering his first place position.

The closest member of Team Canada finished in 13, as Morrison’s teammate Mathieu Giroux finished with a time of 1:47.64.

After finishing first in the 1500 metre race, Morrison will race for his second gold medal in the 1000 metre event.
