Local cowboy rides into Hall of Fame
The cowboy will receive induction on two separate occasions. On March 9, Copeland will be inducted into the B.C. Cowboy Hall of Fame at the Kamloops Cowboy Festival, and once again on April 22 at the Williams Lake Indoor Rodeo.
Copeland, who is 60 years old, has 45 years of competition under his belt buckle, having won 35 trophy saddles over his illustrious riding career.
Along with competing on a regular basis, Copeland also constantly attended cowboy related events such as cattle drives and brandings, making him a prominent member of the cowboy community.
The B.C. Cowboy Hall of Fame is being presented by the B.C. Cowboy Heritage Society, which was started in 1996 to promotes and preserve Cowboy Heritage.
The Hall of Fame was created in 1998 by the B.C. Cowboy Heritage Society back in 1998, with the intention of capturing the memories of these living legends and share their stories.
