Friends raising money for Dawson Creek teen hit by SUV

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Krysten's friend Nicole Aviss says she is still in a coma, and that her parents are by her side. She told Global BC that they've been staying in a nearby motel, but the bills have been adding up.

So friends have organized a bottle drive to raise money to help Krysten's parents be able to stay with her. They are also holding a pub night at the Rendezvous Neighbourhood Pub in Langley on March 22 with proceeds going to the family. Tickets are $20 which includes a burger and a beverage, and there will be a 50/50 draw, a silent auction and door prizes.

A facebook event for the bottle drive is here, and for the pub night is here.

Closer to home, the Fort St. John Bottle Depot has set up an account in Krysten's name, and can also accept cash donations for the family.

Global also reports that a trust fund has been set up in Krysten's name:

Bank Of Montreal (BMO)
Transit number – 0784
Account number – 3992927
