The single game comes as a result of both teams being involved in very busy hockey schedules. Currently, the Chiefs are on a successful Alberta AAA playoff run, having just won a series over the Bentley Generals and are about to begin a best-of-seven series with the Stony Plain Eagles for the provincial championship.
The Flyers are currently preparing for the upcoming Savage Cup, where they will take on the Powell River Regals in a best-of-five series, taking place in Powell River for a B.C. provincial championship.
As a result of their busy schedules, the teams compromised and decided on the one game format, which will take place March 12 at Fort St. John’s North Peace Arena.
The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and will be the last opportunity for fans to show their support for the Flyers before they head to Powell River.
