Dawson Creek teen in critical condition after hit by an SUV

According to the Province, the 16 year-old girl was trying to cross Highway 10 when she was hit by an SUV Friday night.  According to the Province, she suffered extensive head and body injuries and was taken by air ambulance to hospital.  As of Saturday, she was listed in critical condition.

The female was wearing dark clothing and there was limited lighting in the area of the collision.  The road was wet and speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.  The driver of the SUV was shaken up but not hurt.

Witnesses are asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
