Gas prices jump 10 cents a litre overnight
That's because with the exception of the Safeway outlet, which at 11:00 a.m. was still at $1.148 cents a litre, the posted prices at the other stations had jumped ten cents a litre, to $1.249.
That compares to a majority choice, three cent a litre hike, at this time last year, to a $1.129, with Safeway again posting the low end price, at that time, at a $1.099.
According to bcgasprices.com, it also means the common posted price in this city, is now again higher, than both the provincial and national averages, which it had late this morning at a $1.239, and $1.185.
If you're wondering how much higher those prices are than what they were at the height of the recession, at the end of 2008, the answer in both cases is 46 cents a litre.
