Dawson Creek would then tighten up their penalty kill and Tyson McCallum would find himself on a break away, making it a 2-1 game as the first period came to an end.
The second period started with a sharper looking Dawson Creek team taking the ice, the home team began making plays and generating scoring chances but were unable to capitalize. Near the end of the frame the Avalanche took over the game with 2 quick goals making it 4-1.
The third period didn’t look good for the hometown Dawson Creek Rage as the Alaska Avalanche lit up for 3 goals in the first 3 minutes, including a power play marker. The Rage attempted to fight for any sort of momentum, but struggled to gain control. As the time was running out Ryan Matthews was able to score a power play goal for the Rage to make it a 7-2 final for Alaska.
The Rage will look for a win this afternoon at 3 p.m., when they play the Alaska Avalanche to finish off the three game series.
