Rage pick up win over Alaska

The Rage continued to play hard and and physical. Shawn Mueller would flash again as he was hauled down on a breakaway. He would be awarded a penalty shot and make no mistake to make it 2-0 for the Rage.

The second period was underway with no signs of Dawson Creek letting up. The Rage continued making plays and stayed disciplined on a structured forecheck. Captain Scott Fellnermayr would make it 3-0 for the Rage as a result of a hard working shift. Dawson Creek continued with their work ethic as the clock would run out in the second frame.

The third period had Dawson Creek still coming at the Alaska Avalanche hard. The Rage held on to the momentum throughout the majority of the third period. The hometown Rage would be awarded another power play and Ryan Matthews would score a sharp goal off the rush, making it a 4-0 hockey game. The Avalanche attempted to fight back with an even strength goal and a power play marker late in the game. Edward Dyson for Dawson Creek would stand tall between the pipes and earn the 4-2 victory on home ice.

The Rage will play the Alaska Avalanche again tonight starting at 7pm at the EnCana Events Centre.
