Dawson Creek restaurants to dim lights for candlelight dinner in support of energy conservation

Thirteen local restaurants have signed up to participate in the BC Hydro initiative by turning off their lights and lighting candles for their patrons that evening. Residents are also encouraged to pick up and fill out tickets to be entered into a draw to win one of four grand prize packages that include a one-night stay in a local hotel and dinner for two at a local restaurant. Those tickets can be picked up and dropped off at any of the 13 participating restaurants, as well as at City Hall, the Peace River Regional District office, the Chamber of Commerce office and the Visitors’ Information Centre.

Dawson Creek’s mayor, city councillors and senior staff from City Hall will be at several of the participating locations on Thursday evening to help welcome in patrons.

Over 100 restaurants across the province are participating in the Candlelight Conservation Dinner.
