Anti-oilpatch activist Wiebo Ludwig has cancer
The 69 year-old has been receiving injections to date and won’t undergo chemotherapy or radiation treatment. He was diagnosed a few months ago and expects to find out next week just how serious his condition is.
Earlier this week, Ludwig was supposed to be in Fort St. John for the screening of his documentary Wiebo’s War, but cancelled at the last minute because of health reasons.
In 2000, Ludwig was found guilty on five charges related to bombings and vandalism of oil and gas wells in Alberta. He was never charged in the 1999 fatal shooting of a teenager on his Trickle Creek Farm near Hythe Alberta.
More recently in 2010, RCMP officers descended on his property looking for evidence in connection with several bombings at EnCana well sites in B.C.
